SEBAC Mourns Fallen DOT Worker, Andrew DiDomenico

SEBAC released the following statement following the death of CTDOT employee Andrew DiDomenico, 26, who was killed today while working on the Wharton Brook Connector in Wallingford:

"Our hearts are heavy with grief as we mourn the loss of a second young state worker who was tragically killed within a single month while serving our state on our hazardous highways. Workers like Andrew DiDomenico rise each day to stand behind the orange line of cones, dedicating themselves to enhancing the safety and efficiency of the infrastructure upon which every resident depends, all while placing themselves in harm's way for the betterment of our state.

"Tonight, a family will gather at their dinner table, facing the heartbreaking reality of an empty chair, underscoring the senselessness of this tragedy and the urgent need to better protect our workers. Connecticut must honor all state workers who are killed in the line of duty by ensuring fair pension benefits to support their families."
